How a distribution ERP works, from order to cash: How it works, from demo to go-live.
Every order goes through the same six steps in DistrX.io. Moving over from your current system takes a few weeks with a person from our team beside you. Here are both, in order.
One order, all the way through
Each step adds to the same record, so the warehouse, the truck and accounting are always looking at the same order.
- 01 /
Order
From a rep’s phone, the customer portal or the office taking a call — always at that customer’s prices.
SO-10482 - 02 /
Allocate
Stock is reserved from the right warehouse and lot the moment the order is confirmed. Short? It backorders.
15 units held - 03 /
Pick & pack
A pick list in walking order. Every scan checks the item and the lot, and catch weights are captured.
Bins 02 → 12 - 04 /
Deliver
The order joins a route. The driver records what was delivered, short or refused, with a signature.
Route 3 · stop 2 - 05 /
Invoice
Invoiced from what was delivered, not what was ordered, on the customer’s terms. Refusals become credit memos.
INV-20931 - 06 /
Get paid
Payments apply to the oldest invoices first, statements go out, aging stays honest — and it all syncs to accounting.

Six steps to go live
The same path for every distributor, at whatever pace suits yours.
1 · The demo
Tell us how you sell, stock and deliver. We show you DistrX.io with products, customers and routes that look like yours.
2 · A plan and a quote
You get a written go-live plan and a quote sized to your warehouses and users. Nothing starts until you agree to both.
3 · Your data, imported
Products, units, customers, price levels, vendors, opening stock and open invoices, brought in from your exports and checked with you.
4 · The warehouse set up
Warehouses, bins and routes set up, scanners and printers tested, and pick lists checked against a real day’s orders.
5 · Each team trained
Short sessions for the office, reps, warehouse, drivers and accounting, each on the screens they will actually use.
6 · Run alongside, then switch
Run DistrX.io next to your old system until the numbers agree, then switch over on a day that suits you.
Bring across what you already have
Export from your current system or spreadsheets, and we bring it in with you. You see exactly what will be created or changed before anything is saved, and any rows that need a look are listed.
- Products with their units of measure, barcodes and costs
- Customers with price levels, terms, credit limits and routes
- Opening stock by warehouse and lot, and open invoices for aging
A plan with dates, and a person behind it
Each move has a written plan with a date for every step, and a named person on our side who answers your emails. The parallel run means you switch over only once you trust the numbers.
- One kick-off call, then a weekly check-in
- Training recorded, so new hires can watch it later

How long does a move take?
It depends on the size of your catalog, how many warehouses and routes you have, and how clean the data is. A typical move takes a few weeks. Your plan gives the dates before anything starts.
Do I need to install anything?
No. DistrX.io runs in the browser, and the rep and driver apps run on ordinary phones. You need barcode scanners and printers for the warehouse, and we will tell you which ones work.
Can we keep our old system running while we switch?
Yes, and we recommend it. Running both side by side for a short time lets you check that the orders, stock and balances agree before you switch over.
What does it cost to get set up?
Setup is part of the quote you get after the demo, in writing, before anything starts.
See it run on your orders.
Tell us how you sell, stock and deliver. We’ll walk you through DistrX.io using products and customers that look like yours, and lay out what moving over would take.
